Bill Weevil Chapter 2

The next installment of Bill Weevil is here. Thanks to Dylan for this week's ideas. If you sent ideas in, don't worry, I may be saving them for later in the story. If you haven't sent ideas in, please do!

Bill Weevil and the Purple Egg

Chapter 2

Finally Bill decided to carry the big, purple egg inside. He wrapped it with blankets to keep it warm and waited for it to hatch.

(Dylan, 10)

It didn't hatch all night, or the next morning. So Bill went to work because he had to do his job.

Bill worked the most boring job on earth as the guy who made all the homework sheets for school.

(Dylan, age 10)

That day he sat in his office and stared at the picture of Australia and thought about the egg. What if the thing in the egg could fly him there? What if it was a monster who came out and ate people?

The more he thought about it, the more Bill wasn't sure he wanted the purple egg to hatch. What if it just brought trouble?

But when he got home that day, he saw that the purple egg was wiggling and wobbling and had a big crack forming right on top of it. "Oh no!" Bill said, "What should I do?!"

What happens next?

  • Does Bill hide? Does do anything to make sure what's in the egg can't hurt him?

  • What's in the egg? Is it nice? Is it dangerous? How big is it?

  • What is Bill going to have to do to take care of, or get rid of the thing from the egg?

  • What will he do if it is dangerous?

  • What will he feed it?

Please submit answers, drawings and any ideas here by Wednesday 6/29 at midnight to make it into the next chapter. However, many ideas can be used later in the story, so if you miss the deadline, send your ideas anyway. I can't wait to see your responses!

Please share this post with your friends, especially those with kids with wild imaginations. Thanks for visiting my site!
